PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for lining up at least two vertically existing teletext pages one above the other and displaying the same on one display device or screen. SOLUTION: The method for displaying teletext information on the image constituted based on pixels with the display device relates to the same method of performing the following procedure steps: A teletext signal including the sequence of teletext characters is prepared. The character which are allocated to each of the encoded teletext characters and include the matrix of the pixels are selected from one character set. The selected characters are displayed on the display device based on the pixels. At this time, the first and second character sets are prepared and the characters allocated to the above encoded teletext characters are selected from the first characters or the second characters according to whether the teletext pages are to be lined up one above the other in a vertical direction and are to be displayed on the display device or not.
