PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an induction heating device of excellent heating efficiency, a low cost, safety, and high reliability, whereby the temperature fluctuations can be suppressed and warming-up can be expedited. SOLUTION: A fixing device 101 is provided with a conductive layer 109 to which a current is induced in a variable magnetic field, a heating roller 102 having a hollow structure, a magnetic field generating means 104 disposed so as to externally surround the heating roller 102 to generate the variable magnetic field in the conductive layer 109, a pressure roller 103 disposed face to face with the heating roller 102 to convey a sheet material to be heated by holding it between the pressure roller and the heating roller 102, and a thermal storage member 105 disposed in the internal space of the heating roller 102 through an air layer between the member and the inner wall of the heating roller 102. Thereby, when reheating, a rise time required to raise the heating roller 102 to its prescribed temperature can be shortened in cooperation with the heat retaining effect of the thermal storage member 105, and power required for preheating operation while standing by can be lessened.
