The spectrophotometer has a scanning device (1), an interferometer (3), a dispersive system (6) and a plane array of photodetectors (8) arranged in series. An image of light source (S) is displaced parallel to a principal direction of variation of optical path length difference created in the interferometer, during the displacement of the device. Final images are formed on the array for different dispersed wavelengths.
