PURPOSE: A color filter, a method for manufacturing the color filter, a display device, an electrooptic device, and an electronic equipment are provided to improve the visibility and contrast by orderly defining coloring layers by a boundary layer. CONSTITUTION: A substrate(2) has light transmission. A reflecting layer(3) is formed on the substrate, having apertures(4). Boundary layers(5,21) are formed on the reflecting layer. A plurality of coloring layers(6R,6G,6B) are surrounded by the boundary layers. The boundary layers surround the apertures, and include colorless boundary layers(5) having light transmission.
