PURPOSE: A phonebook retrieval method is provided to simply search the phonebook for a desired person by inputting partial information among the desired person's name and related information as a query. CONSTITUTION: A user selects a phonebook search menu in order to search the phonebook for a desired person's name. The user inputs a query related to the desired person. At this moment, the user inputs partial information contained in the user's name and associated information as the query. A phonebook search part checks whether the inputted query exists in the phonebook. In case that the inputted query exists, a search information output part outputs the desired person's name and associated information through a display part.
