<p>The invention relates to a process and a device for making a rubber mat with electric supply, employed, for instance, for heating a closed space wherein there is fluid or solid material, or for controlling the temperature and moisture of the ground. According to the invention, the process comprises the curing or glueing of the mat along the entire common contact surface or along the external outline of some rubber sheets only, by using the heat derived from some resistors placed inside the mat and/or some resistors placed inside a lower fixed metal plate so that, by means of a pressure generated between the above-mentioned plate and a mobile upper metal plate, as well as due to the physical and chemical reactions taking place in the interface areas of the mat, the rubber sheets are attached to each other. The claimed device comprises some metal plates (1 and 2), namely a mobile upper plate and a fixed lower plate, the last one containing an electric resistor (5), both plates (1 and 2) being or not being internally lined with some copper plates (3 and 4), the whole assembly being fastened in a metal frame or in the frame of a press, where, over a raw rubber sheet (6) there are placed one or several resistor elements (7) as wires or strands, over which there is placed another rubber sheet (8) forming the mat, all the contact surfaces of the rubber sheets (6 and 8) and of the resistor elements (7), respectively, being coated with layers (9) of pastes or of solutions for curing or glueing the sheets (6 and 8), and finally, by pressing the assembly between the plates (1 and 2) and by supplying the resistor elements (7) and/or the resistor (5) in the fixed metal plate (2) with adequate voltages, the glueing or curing process being accelerated.</p> |
