PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an accessory allowing easy reading of an indicated temperature and preventing loss of an electronic thermometer when measuring animals' rectal temperature therewith. SOLUTION: The accessory comprises a holder 2 to hold the electronic thermometer with a temperature reading part 5 with smooth outer surface to cover a temperature indicating part of the electronic thermometer, a clip 3 to be attached to an animal body, and a string 4 to connect the holder 2 and the clip 3, which enables perfect wiping off feces around the temperature indicating part for easy reading of the indicated temperature, and prevents the electronic thermometer from getting lost in the feces on defecation by fixing the clip 3 to the animal's body or body hair.
