ABNORMAL TRANSMISSION ANALYZING SYSTEM AND METHOD IN COMMUNICATION NETWORK

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To indicate a doubtful port as a cause of abnormal transmission of a communication network to a network administrator for supporting earlier dissolution of the abnormal transmission. SOLUTION: A change counter item is provided at the MAC address table 7 of a switching hub 2 that switches over hubs 11to 1Nby a switching processing portion 3 and a spanning tree protocol 4, and the frequency of a change in the port to an MAC address is recorded on the change counter, then an abnormal transmission analytical portion 5 identifies ports that are frequently changed, as the cause of the abnormal transmission. An abnormal port table 8 is provided wherein a frequency that the value of the change counter reaches a certain value or more is totaled by the port as the number of the abnormal MAC addresses. The abnormal transmission analytical portion totals the abnormal port table at a certain cycle, and displays on an LED display 6 each port where the number of the abnormal MAC addresses to the certain value or more, then the port where abnormalities occur most frequently is displayed by flashing on the display as the most doubtful port.
