PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To supply desired image data within an allowable time of a user in supply of the image data to the user via a network or the like. SOLUTION: This image data server holding the image data (first image data) required by the user of an image viewer 20-1 previously supplies information about data capacity of image data from an attached information storage part 13 storing attached information about the image data to the image viewer 20-1. On the basis of the data capacity and network ability, a compression condition setting part 23 of the image viewer 20-1 sets a receivable data compression condition by an image modality unit via a network 5 within the allowable time of the user. According to the data compression condition, a data compression computing part 14 of the image data server 10 compresses the first image data in the image data storage part 12 to create second image data and supplies them to the image viewer 20-1.
