PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a system for precisely detecting only a stayer who stays for a long period of time without erroneously detecting passers-by who are passing in front of the front door or gate of a house. SOLUTION: An edge image is generated from an image pickup means, and a facial image is extracted from the picked up image on the basis of a difference between the edge image and a background image. Then, the time space distribution 104 and 108 of the face image is generated.
