PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve problems that a conventional garbage disposal unit requires a means for supporting a heavy cover because a motor driving a drying fan is mounted on the inside back surface of the cover to increase the weight of the cover and operability for opening and closing the cover is made worse due to the heaviness of the cover. SOLUTION: This garbage disposal unit is constituted so as to drive a stirring blade (a garbage stirring means) 22, a drying centrifugal fan (a hot air heating means) 29 and a suction port (an exhaust means)37 by using a common motor 27. As a result, the motor for driving the hot air heating means 29 is mounted at a place except the cover 26 to lighten the cover 26, the supporting structure for the cover 26 is unnecessary and the cover 26 is easily opened and closed.
