PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coating agent for a float to form a float having excellent durability and usable for a long period without causing the lowering of the buoyancy of the float, the change of appearance and the adhesion of organisms to the float. SOLUTION: The coating agent for a float is composed of a two-pack solvent-free urethane resin [I] composed of (a) a polyisocyanate component, (b) a polyol component and (c) a catalyst. Preferably, the resin is a urethane resin [I-1] wherein the polyisocyanate component (a) is composed mainly of a diphenylmethane diisocyanate-based polyisocyanate, the polyol component (b) is composed of (b1) an N,N,N',N'-tetrakis[hydroxypropyl]ethylenediamine compound and (b2) other polyols and the catalyst (c) is a metallic compound, especially a bismuth-based compound.
