Thineo 3,4-d -4-pyrimidones - having cardiovascular, analgesic, antiinflammatory, cytostatic, bacteriostatic, fungistatic and CNS-stimulant and -depresant effects. Cpds. (I) and their salts. (where R1 is 1-7C alkyl or pyridylethenyl, R2 is phenyl, thienyl, furyl, pyridyl opt. substd. by halogen, alkyl, alkoxy, NO2 or dialkylamino, and R3 is H or 1-7C alkyl) are prepd. by reacting a 3-acyl amino thenoic acid with an amine RNH2 or (I, R1 = Me) with nicotinic aldehyde. Thus 3-acetylamino-4-thenoic acid and o-toludine with PCl3 gave I, R1 = Me, R2 o-tolyl, R3 = H).
