PURPOSE: A system for providing information in a mobile communication network and a method thereof are provided to promptly provide detailed information related to an object which a user is interested in, based on specific contact information of the object inputted by the user, thereby minimizing annoyance for acquiring the detailed information. CONSTITUTION: A mobile switching center(110) receives digit information dialed by a predetermined user through a base station(150), and sets up a call to an information providing server(120) based on preliminarily set routing information to the information providing server(120) providing detailed information related to an interest object and routing information to the information providing server(120) acquired through data transmission and reception with a home location register, and requests detailed information to the interest object of the user. The home location register receives the digit information and analyses the corresponding digit information. If type information of a service providing the detailed information is recognized, the home location register acquires routing information for setting up a call to the information providing server(120) through data transmission and reception with the information providing server(120) to transmit the acquired routing information to the mobile switching center(110). The information providing server(120) allocates a predetermined routing number according to the routing information request to transmit the routing number to the home location register, and provides the detailed information related to the interest object after setting up the call with the mobile switching center(110).
