PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus for providing a selectively separated machine area network for a machine element which performs data communication between mutual machine elements and with a remote site. SOLUTION: The machine area network to a plurality of engineering devices 15 is obtained by connecting to a controller 16, a web server 18 connected or integrated to the controller 16, and a router 24 connected between the controller 16 and a LAN or a WAN 26, each.
