PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To perform an ornament that changes in time series to character data, on the basis of appropriate time information. SOLUTION: A character ornament display comprises a character input section 1; a display section 2 for ornamenting the character data inputted from the character input section 1 for display control; a display section 3 for performing screen display by the display control section 2; a position data acquisition section 4 for acquiring position data for indicating the ornament position of the character data; a text display position extraction section 5 for obtaining the coordinates information of a character on the display section 3 from the position data; a times series information management section 7 for managing time series information, such as current date and time; a comparison section 8 for comparing time series ornament condition data corresponding to ornament data with time series reference data managed by the time series management means; and an ornament data selection drawing section 10 for selecting the corresponding ornament data when the time series ornament condition data coincide with the condition of the time series reference data and obtaining a coordinates position for ornamenting and drawing the ornament data.
