<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a synchronization acquisition apparatus and synchronization acquisition method for performing synchronization acquisition speedily. <P>SOLUTION: Under control of a channel control part 80, an interlace scan of frequency channels is carried out, a received power measuring part 30 measures the received power of each frequency channel, and a storage device 60 stores received power values. A frequency channel specifying part 70 uses the measured received power values and a predetermined function to specify a frequency channel in which it is estimated that its received power is maximum among the plurality of frequency channels.
