<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rust in a water-cooled engine fixing an exhaust device to a cylinder head by a simple structure. <P>SOLUTION: This rustproofing device for the outboard motor is constituted in such a way that an exhaust pipe 35 having an exhaust passage 35a communicating with an exhaust port 16 of the cylinder head 14 is fixed to the cylinder head through a gasket, water jackets 14a, 36 are provided in the cylinder head and the exhaust pipe, respectively, in this water-cooled engine, a sacrifice anode 37 is arranged in the water jacket of the exhaust pipe, and a non-coating part is provided in the gasket. Even if the cylinder head and the exhaust device are not mutually connected by each water jacket, both members are electrically connected to obtain rustproofing (corrosion prevention) effect by the sacrifice anode for them.
