<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ceiling embedded air conditioner capable of miniaturizing an indoor machine main body in the ceiling embedded air conditioner comprising a device for lifting and lowering a lifting grill. <P>SOLUTION: This ceiling embedded air conditioner comprises the indoor machine main body 1 installed in a ceiling, a grill frame 21 comprising an air suction port 22 and a blowout port 23, and mounted on a lower end of the indoor machine main body for covering an opening part of a ceiling plate 6, the lifting grill 31 positioned at the suction port of the grill frame in a lifted state, and comprising a detachable filter 41, and the lifting and lowering device 36 for lifting and lowering the lifting grill by taking up and paying out a hanger rope 33.
