FIELD: estimation of non-linear sonic distortion. ^ SUBSTANCE: level gauge has random signal oscillator, bandwidth filter, correlator, comparison unit and control unit. Operation of device is based upon comparison of auto-correlation function of random input signal with auto-correlation function of random output signal. Estimation of value of intermodulation distortion reduces to estimation of degree of change in auto-correlation function of signal passed through non-linear networks. In case of stationary random input signal, auto-correlation function of input signal can be calculated once before beginning of measurements. As level gauge takes all the components of noise signal into account, efficiency of estimation of precision of measurement of intermodulation distortions is improved. ^ EFFECT: improved precision of measurement. ^ 4 cl, 4 dwg |
