PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an annular object counting machine and an annular object counting method that can count annular objects with high reliability. SOLUTION: The annular object counting device 1, which aligns annular objects 13 and feeds out the annular objects 13 one by one to count them, comprises an alignment part 2 for entraining and tensioning a plurality of annular objects 13 rotatively between a driveshaft 11 and a tension shaft 12, a holding member 3 having a deflection bar 23 turnable about the driveshaft 11 of the alignment part to lift the annular objects 13 off the driveshaft 11 when the annular objects are fed out, a push part 4 for feeding the annular objects 13 suspended from the deflection bar 23 out from an end of the holding member 13, and a counting mechanism 5 for counting the annular objects 13 fed out from the end of the holding member 3 according to signals from a detection sensor 36.
