<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus in which a fixing setup temperature during a standby period can be selected and priority over the initial print speed or low power consumption can thereby be selected. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus obtains a copied image by including: a latent image carrier on which a latent image is held; an exposure means for forming an electrostatic latent image on the latent image carrier; a development means that develops the image on the latent image carrier; a transfer medium on which the image developed by the development means is transferred; a conveyance means that conveys the transfer medium; and a fixing means that transfers the image on the transfer medium to transfer paper and fixes the image on the transfer paper under heat. Such an image forming apparatus is provided with: a correspondence table showing standby period fixing set temperatures, warmup periods, and consumption power; a setting part 50 that sets a standby period fixing temperature selected from the displayed correspondence table; and a control part 10 that controls warmup based upon the standby period fixing set temperature.
