<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible for a recording/reproducing apparatus to easily check the maximum address of a user-data-recordable region in each recording layer, on a recordable disk having a plurality of recording layers. <P>SOLUTION: On a recording medium such as a DVD+R or DVD+RW disc having the plurality of recording layers, the maximum address (i.e., the maximum physical sector number of a layer) of the user-data-recordable region (data zone) in each recording layer is recorded as physical format information in a wobbling groove.
