<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To regenerate a DPF while preventing overheating. <P>SOLUTION: This exhaust emission control device for the internal combustion engine is constituted by providing an intercooler 3 on the halfway of an intake pipe 5 and providing the DPF 9 on the halfway of an exhaust pipe 7. When engine cooling water temperature Tw detected by a water temperature sensor 13 is below a predetermined value Tw0, fuel is post-injected from an injector 6 to regenerate the DPF 9 (usual regeneration mode). When engine cooling water temperature Tw is higher than the predetermined value Tw0, an electric pump 8 is stopped to raise intake air temperature and regenerate the DPF 9 while post-injection amount is reduced than that when operation mode is usual regeneration mode (high water temperature regeneration mode), thereby suppressing heat radiation amount of the engine 1 when operation mode is high water temperature regeneration mode to lower extent than that when operation mode is usual regeneration mode. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
