PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor which is excellent in connection reliability and packaging while materializing its miniturization and large capacitance, in a chip-shape solid electrolytic capacitor in which an anode lead is drawn, and a capacitor element having a cathode layer formed on a surface, an anode terminal plate connected with the anode lead, and a cathode terminal plate connected with the cathode layer are covered with a sheathing resin so that parts of the anode terminal plate and cathode terminal plate are exposed. SOLUTION: In the anode terminal plate, there is a protrusion portion having a height almost equivalent to a difference between the position connecting the anode lead and the anode terminal plate and the position connecting the cathode layer and the cathode terminal plate, the anode lead is connected on the upper surface of the protrusion portion, there are the exposed portions of the anode terminal plate and cathode terminal plate on an edge surface and an edge bottom, and the areas of the exposed portions of the edge surface and edge bottom are almost equal on the anode terminal plate and the cathode terminal plate respectively.
