PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information management device and an information management method by which a file to be uploaded can surely be uploaded onto a file server by a simple operation. SOLUTION: In this information management device, when judging that a file is attached to an electronic mail received by a mail server 8, the mail server 8 transfers the judged electronic mail to a file server 10, and when receiving the notification of address information showing the location of the file attached to the electronic mail from the file server 10, the mail server 8 adds the address information to the electronic mail, and transmits the electronic mail to the electronic mail address information of a user participating in a mailing list as destination.
