PURPOSE: A polarizing plate is provided to exactly control an orientation state of a polymer film, which indirectly controls the orientation of a pigment, thereby reducing an orientation deviation of the polarization film and improving display uniformity of an LCD. CONSTITUTION: A polarizing film has a phase difference of 400nm-1200nm against light having a wavelength of 1000nm, and a deviation of the phase difference within the range of ±50nm. A polymer film constituting the polarizing film has a birefringence of 2.5x10-2 to 3.5x10-2 and a deviation of the birefringence within the range of ±1.0x10-3. The polarizing film has a transmittance of 42.5%-50%, a polarizing degree of 99.9%-100%, a spectral different color ratio of 50 to 200, and a film thickness of 12§-18§. Both ends of the polymer film successively supplied with the polarizing film are retained by a clamp element. The polarizing film is elongated with tension to obtain a width of 400nm-2000nm, by advancing the clamping element in a lengthwise direction of the polymer film.
