FLAT TYPE CATHODE RAY TUBE HAVING CONCAVE PORTION AT OUTER SURFACE OF SEALED PORTION BETWEEN PANEL AND FUNNEL

PURPOSE: A flat type cathode ray tube is provided to achieve improved explosion proof characteristics and purity characteristics by forming a concave portion at an outer surface of a sealed portion between a panel and a funnel. CONSTITUTION: A flat type cathode ray tube comprises a panel(1) having an inner surface on which a screen is formed; a funnel(3) mounted at a rear surface of the panel; an electron gun inserted into a neck portion of the funnel so as to emit electron beams toward the screen; and a shadow mask having a plurality of electron beam passing holes, wherein the shadow mask is spaced apart from the inner surface of the panel. The panel and the funnel are deposited with a molten frit glass, and a concave portion is formed at an outer surface of a sealed portion between the panel and the funnel.
