<p>In a satellite mobile telecommunication network it is possible to determine the position of user terminal (1a). A user requiring a service, dials a service number. Using the user terminal's position and a database of service providers with their location and their unique network number, the call is routed to the service provider nearest the user. Such a system is especially useful when routing calls to the emergency services, such as the police, fire and ambulance.</p> |
