PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a state change detection method and a state change detector of a specimen for easily and precisely detecting whether some sort of change is generated in the state of the specimen, such as a machine. SOLUTION: When the sound of the specimen is sampled by a microphone 1, the images of the specimen and its periphery are sampled by a camera 3, image data are analyzed by an image analysis section 4, acoustic data are analyzed by an acoustic analysis section 2, and the presence or absence of the state change in the specimen is determined by a state change determination section 6, on the basis of the analysis result of the image data and that of the acoustic data.
