PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device for disk drive allocation for dynamically allocating the disk drive required by a host computer without consideration for the disk drive allocation by a system administrator, and a control method thereof. SOLUTION: The control device for the disk drive allocation is equipped with a request generating part 201 for requesting the allocation for a disk drive 140 to a disk control device 120, a response receiving part 202 for receiving the allocation result for the disk device 140 from the disk control device 120, and a host computer control part 101 configured with a path control part 203 for preserving the allocation result as the path information when the allocation result matches up with the allocation request, an information management part 120 that receives the allocation request for the disk drive 140. And notifies the host computer control part of the path for the disk drive 140 matching up with the request by searching an information management table 122, and the information management table 122 for storing the disk management information and the allocation information.
