PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a map display method of an on-vehicle information terminal capable of performing map display by superposition of maps varying in fineness. SOLUTION: The map display by superposition of the detail segmentation maps and wide area segmentation maps varying in the fineness is performed by successively performing the display of the backgrounds of the wide area segmentation maps (steps S 2 and S 3), the display of the backgrounds of the detail segmentation maps (steps S 4 and S 5), the display of the roads of the wide area segmentation maps (steps S 6 and S 7), the display of the roads of the detail segmentation maps (steps S 8 and S 9), the display of the place names of the wide area segmentation maps (steps S 10 and S 11), and the display of the place names of the detail segmentation maps (steps S 12 and S 13).
