PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a contaminated foundation purification method which can be applied to every foundation of a saturated sand foundation, an unsaturated sand foundation, a saturated viscous foundation and an unsaturated viscous foundation, is high in purification efficiency, and can attain the remarkable shortening of a treatment period, and to provide a purification device used therefor. SOLUTION: In the contaminated foundation purification method, a contaminated foundation in situ is purified by using a stirring apparatus 10 provided with one or more stirring vanes 2 radiately fitted in the lower direction of rotary shafts, air injection ports 3 fitted to the prescribed places in the rotating regions of the stirring vanes 2 and gas suction ports 4 fitted to the prescribed places in the direction upper than the air injection ports 3 in the rotating regions of the stirring vanes 2. In this case, the stirring of in situ soil by the stirring vanes 2 and the injection of air into the rotating regions of the stirring vanes 2 are simultaneously performed, and contaminants are recovered from the gas suction ports 4 to the ground.
