PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an aluminum-coated steel wire and a high anti-corrosion overhead electric wire using the same enabled to improve corrosion resistance and life of the wire even without using grease of any kind. SOLUTION: The aluminum-coated steel wire 2 is structured by coating high-purity aluminum 2b with a purity of 99.9% on a steel wire 2a. The high anti-corrosion overhead electric wire 1 as an aluminum-coated steel twisted wire is structured by twisting a plurality of the aluminum-coated steel wires 2. The use of the high-purity aluminum realizes high corrosion resistance, and shortcomings of the high-purity aluminum of being low in strength are well covered by the steel wires 2a of the aluminum-coated steel wires 2.
