FLAME-RETARDANT OPTICAL FIBER CORE WIRE AND FLAME-RETARDANT OPTICAL FIBER TAPE CORE WIRE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flame-retardant optical fiber core wire and a flame-retardant optical fiber tape core wire which do not impair the light transmission properties of the optical fiber in a covering step and are good in productivity. SOLUTION: The optical fiber core wire 1 is constituted by forming a coating 12 of a flame-retardant ultraviolet-curable resin (of a Young's modulus of 50 to 1,000 MPa as measured after being cured) satisfying the conditions of UL94 V0 around the periphery of an optical fiber (bare fiber) 11. Alternatively, the optical fiber core wire is constituted by sequentially forming the primary coating of a non-flame-retardant ultraviolet-curable resin and the secondary flame-retardant ultraviolet-curable resin which is the same as above around the periphery of an optical fiber. The optical fiber tape core wire is constituted by arranging a plurality of coated optical fiber core wires parallelly in a row and forming a common coating film of the above flame-retardant ultraviolet-curable resin. Alternatively, the optical fiber tape core wire is constituted by forming an outer common coating film of the above flame-retardant ultraviolet-curable resin on the periphery of the optical fiber tape core formed by arranging a plurality of coated optical fiber wires parallelly in a row and forming a common coating layer of the non-flame-retarding ultraviolet-curable resin.
