CATHODE RAY TUBE WITH THERMAL EXPANSION COMPENSATION COIL FOR COMPENSATING FOR LANDING ERRORS AT HORIZONTAL END OF SHADOW MASK

PURPOSE: A cathode ray tube is provided to effectively compensate for landing errors at a horizontal end of a shadow mask where influence of thermal expansion is relatively significant, by arranging a magnetic field generating coil. CONSTITUTION: A cathode ray tube comprises a shadow mask for selectively passing electron beams by using a plurality of micro holes; a funnel(16) having the shadow mask embedded therein; and a compensation coil(31) fixed at a horizontal end on a longer side center axis of the shadow mask and at an outer surface of the funnel corresponding in the direction opposite to the direction of electron beam movement. The compensation coil compensates for landing errors of electron beams caused due to thermal expansion of the shadow mask, by forming magnetic fields by the current applied from an external source.
