PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To compact a steering damper and increase a degree of freedom in vehicle body design. SOLUTION: The steering damper 10 is equipped with a first oil passage 31, a second oil passage 32 and a third oil passage 33 in a partition member 22, a first check valve 41 on a piston 16, and a second check valve 42 in the third oil passage 33 of the partition member 22. The first oil passage allows a piston rod side hydraulic chamber 17A to communicate with an annular hydraulic chamber 21. The second oil passage provides communication between the annular hydraulic chamber 21 and an oil sump chamber 23, and the third oil passage provides communication between the oil sump chamber 23 and a piston side hydraulic chamber 17B. A cross sectional area of a piston rod 15 is set to be equal to a cross sectional area of the piston rod side hydraulic chamber 17A. In this steering damper, a damping force adjusting member 50 is equipped on an opposite side of an outer cylinder 11, extends through a movable partition member 24 and faces the second oil passage 32 of the partition member 22.
