PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently design a tire excellent in braking performance. SOLUTION: Object functions and design parameters are set (step S101). The object function and the design parameter having higher braking performance and correlation are selected. An experiment plan model of a block constituting a tread pattern is prepared (step S102). By performing a calculation by imparting boundary conditions such as compressive force, shearing force or a coefficient of friction with a road surface, the object function of the experiment plan model of the block is determined (step S103). By a technique such as a regression analysis, the object function is shown by an approximate function of the design parameter (step S105). By the approximate function, the object function is optimized (step S106). Soundness of the block and tread pattern designed by the optimized design parameter is evaluated (step S107).
