PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a downloading method, an information receiving system, a program, and a portable telephone with which the shortage of download time, the reduction of communication expenses, etc. can be attained by combining the portable telephone and a personal computer, as compared with the case to directly download contents to the portable telephone. SOLUTION: A contents supply site 5 is accessed from a portable telephone 1 by a radio network through a base station 2, a center 3, and the Internet 4, and only the purchase reservation information of selected contents is downloaded. When a user attaches the portable telephone 1 to which the purchase reservation information is downloaded to a cradle 6 connected to the personal computer 7, the purchase reservation information is transmitted to a contents supply site 5 through the cradle 6, the personal computer 7, and the Internet 4, and the contents whose purchase is reserved are downloaded from the contents supply site 5 to the personal computer 7.
