METHOD OF ESTABLISHING LINKS BETWEEN STATIONS WHICH ARE CONNECTED TO A TELECOMMUNICATION NETWORK

The invention relates to a method of establishing links between stations whi ch are connected to a telecommunication network. The invention is characterised in that it consists in assigning a local transmission identifier to each lin k and decoding the information based on the local identifier of the assigned link and the unequivocal identifier sent to the transmitter during the transmission period thereof. The invention can be used to establish multiple links between stations in a telecommunication network in a unicast (to a single receiver) or multicast (to multiple receivers) manner regardless of t he type of network or system used in the communication. The invention is suitab le for telecommunication systems which employ an addressing system for the connection of stations. Moreover, the invention is advantageous in that it: minimises the data overload owing to the headends, facilitates the establishment of connections between two or more stations, and makes flexibl e the addressing of packets within the same network.
