摘要 PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to achieve improved discharge efficiency by enhancing the configuration of a discharge sustain electrode such that plasma discharge starts simultaneously from the center and contour part of a discharge cell and spreads to the peripheral part. CONSTITUTION: A plasma display panel comprises a first substrate(2) and a second substrate(4) opposed with each other; address electrodes(8) arranged on the second substrate; barrier ribs(12) arranged in the space formed between the first and second substrates, so as to define discharge cells(6); phosphor layers(14R,14G,14B) formed in the discharge cells; and discharge sustain electrodes(20) arranged on the first substrate. The discharge sustain electrode includes a pair of bus electrodes(16a,18a) formed into a stripe pattern such that the pair of bus electrodes corresponds to each of discharge cells; and a pair of protrusion electrodes(16b,18b) protruded from the bus electrodes toward insides of the discharge cells. The protrusion electrodes are opposed with each other. A concave portion is formed at a center of an opposed surface of the protrusion electrode, such that the pair of protrusion electrodes are opposed with each other with a gap formed by expanding the concave portion.
