Passive clamping of air spring bellows and tubes

The pneumatic spring has two end members in the form of a cover (4) and piston (6), with a bellows (8) fitted in between them. The ends (81,82) of the bellows are installed between the fastening section of the respective end member and a clamping ring (12). An additional clamping ring (14) is fitted on the side of the fastening section of the cover and/or piston lying opposite the first clamping ring. At least one of the two clamping rings is tensioned by axial thrust force. Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) a use for a clamping ring and an additional clamping ring which is for the extension resistant and pressure-tight connecting of the co-axially overlapping ends of two tubular or sleeve-form components; and (b) a method for the extension resistant and pressure-tight connecting of the co-axially overlapping ends of two tubular or sleeve-form components.
