943,377. Bolts; nuts; anchor-nuts; securing bolts against loss. W. DZUS. June 13, 1962 [Dec. 1, 1961], No. 22719/62. Heading F2H. Two panel plates 32 are secured together and held to a supporting plate 30 by a screw 10 (which may be captive in the outer panel plate) with a thread 17 having an undercut flank 18 and screwed into a housing 12 having a complementary thread and longitudinal slits 25, Fig. 4, so that downward movement of the screw 10 from the position shown causes the housing to contract inwardly. The housing 12 is formed in two halves, Fig. 4, each having a base 21 with a recess 33 for receiving an anchoring prong 31 struck from the supporting plate 30 at the edge of the plate aperture. A helical spring, Fig. 3, embraces tightly the top of the housing 12. |
