1300818 Routers ROCKWELL MFG CO 15 July 1970 [1 Aug 1969] 34225/70 Heading B5L A router base-plate 56 is formed of transparent abrasion resistant material, e.g. polycarbonate, has a through opening 68, Fig. 4, for passing a cutting tool, e.g. 16, Fig. 1, and has dependent workpiece engaging rig portions, e.g. 70, 76, 80, Fig. 4, which delimit non-workpiece engaging portions which permit the operator to view the engagement of the tool 16 with the work. As described the plate 56 is screwed to the base ring 32 of a router 10 which includes a motor 12 adjustable on a base assembly 14 and driving the tool 16. Side posts 30 on the assembly 14 support gripping knobs 36, and have lugs 52 adapted to receive support rods for a straight gauge accessory. The ribs 70, 76, 81, may be replaced by a plurality of staggered arcuate ribs. The plate may have apertures 82 to facilitate removal of chips. |
