摘要 PURPOSE: An apparatus for controlling refresh power of a semiconductor device and a controlling method thereof are provided to reduce the power consumption due to the unnecessary operation of a standby driver and an active driver for generating core voltage for an array in a refresh mode by only enabling an array power controller during the bit line equalize period. CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for controlling refresh power of a semiconductor device comprises a sense amp over driver for supplying the first and the second operating voltage as a sense amplifier for sensing the data of a memory cell; a refresh operation signal generator(110) for generating the refresh operation signal needed for the refreshing of the memory cell; an array power controller(120) for generating the first and the second control signal for controlling the supply of the second operation voltage supplying to the sense amp according to the refresh operation signal, wherein the controller disables the first and the second control signal during the restore period, enables one of the first and the second control signal during the bit line equalize period; the first and the second driver for generating the second operating voltage by enable state of the first and the second control signal.
