PURPOSE: A rubber composition for tire tread is provided to improve scorching stability and low fuel consumption ratio properties while maintaining the abrasion resistance by using a novel silane coupling agent. CONSTITUTION: The rubber composition for tire tread comprises a base rubber, silica, a coupling agent, a vulcanizing agent, an activator, a softening agent and a vulcanization accelerator, wherein the coupling agent is represented by formula 1 in which R is C12 or C14 alkyl group, and the silica has BET specific surface area of 400m2/g or less and has cetyltrimethylammonium bromide(CTAB) specific surface area of 400m2/g or less.
