A fuel feed pump simple in construction, easy to produce, and capable of efficiently pressurizing a high flow rate of fuel. The fuel feed pump (50) comprises a housing (52), a plunger barrel (53), a fuel-pressurizing plunger (54) installed for lifting and lower movement in the plunger barrel, a cam (60) rotatably installed below the plunger, a tappet structure (6) installed between the cam (60) and the plunger (54) for transmitting the turning force, serving as a lifting force, from the cam shaft (3) to the plunger (54), and a return spring (68) installed between the tappet structure (6) and the plunger barrel (53) for imparting a lowering force to the plunger (54), wherein the plunger barrel (53) has a projection (53a) for supporting the upper end of the return spring (68).
