PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a static eliminator using alpha rays that can bring atmospheric ions of a reverse polarity to a charged load on the surface of an object for static elimination efficiently into contact with the object for static elimination, out of atmospheric ions ionized by alpha-ray irradiation. SOLUTION: In the static eliminator using the alpha rays so made to neutralize a charged load of the object for static elimination (M) by emitting atmospheric ions ionized by the alpha-ray irradiation in the shielding box (10) outside the shielding box from an opening for ion emission (100) to have them in contact with the object for static elimination, a conductor functioning as an ion-suctioning electrode is provided inside the shielding box (10). In this example, the shielding box (10) as a whole is structured of aluminum (a conductor), so that the inner wall faces of the shielding box (10) function as a conductor.
