PURPOSE: A method and a structure for positioning a head lamp on a vehicle body are provided to accurately set the position of the head lamp for a front section of the vehicle body by holding temporally, moving relatively, and positioning the head lamp to a front section unit. CONSTITUTION: A method for positioning a head lamp(9) on a vehicle body(1) is composed of steps for temporally holding the head lamp on a first position of a first member of the vehicle body; mounting first and second members of the vehicle body, approaching the head lamp and the first member to the second member, and moving the head lamp relatively for the first member from the first position; contacting the second member of the vehicle body with the head lamp to release the head lamp from a temporal holding state; and mounting a guide member for guiding a portion of the second member on the head lamp as the first member approaches the second member.
