BACK LIGHT ASSEMBLY AND LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY HAVING THE SAME FOR IMPROVING BRIGHTNESS OF CENTER OF EFFECTIVE DISPLAY AREA

PURPOSE: A back light assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) having the back light assembly are provided to improve brightness of the center of an effective display area by arranging one of a plurality of lamps on an imaginary line traversing the center of the display area. CONSTITUTION: A back light assembly(100) of an LCD includes a plurality of lamps(110), a diffusion plate(130), and a frame(120). The lamps are arranged in parallel and generate light. One of the lamps is located corresponding to an imaginary line traversing the center of the frame. The diffusion plate is placed above the lamps to improve uniformity of brightness of light generated from the lamps. The frame houses the lamps and the diffusion plate. The LCD includes the back light assembly, an LCD panel assembly and a chassis. The LCD panel assembly displays images using light emitted from the back light assembly. The chassis fixes the LCD panel assembly to the back light assembly.
